Become an ally

What does being an ally mean?

A strong coalition and a powerful march are not possible without the involvement and support of a large group of Allies. Together we are stronger!

As an Ally, you can choose to become an Active Ally or a Supporting Ally.

All Allies endorse the demands of the Climate Crisis Coalition (KCC). They are listed on our website and can participate as a bloc during the Climate March.

Active Allies also have additional opportunities. They can participate in the Allies’ Meeting, where they can contribute ideas and vote on decisions and activities of the KCC – including, of course, the Climate March. If elected, they can also serve on the Coordination Council (CR). Active Allies also contribute financially, according to their ability.

Supporting Allies demonstrate their support for the KCC, but without the additional obligations. Political parties and political youth organizations cannot become Active Allies, but are very welcome to become Supporting Allies.

Does your organization want to become an Ally – or get even more involved and become an Active Ally? Send an email to communicatie@klimaatmars.nl.

Klimaatmars 2021

Why should Active Allies contribute financially?

This was decided for two reasons:

  1. To contribute to the funding of the Climate Crisis Coalition and the Climate Marches.
  2. We want to ensure that important decisions are made by groups and
organizations with a certain level of commitment.

To ensure accessibility to being Active Ally, the annual fee is kept low.

  • Volunteer organizations: €25
  • Small organizations (<2 FTE): €100
  • Medium-sized organizations (2-5 FTE): €250
  • Large organizations (6-10 FTE): €500
  • Very large organizations (>10 FTE): €1200
  • Annual payment of membership fee.
  • Attend the Alliance Meeting at least once a year.

Active Allies can submit and vote on motions. They also contribute to the strategic, political, and financial frameworks of the Climate March and its evaluation. They also have the right to vote in the election of the Coordination Council (CR) and can run for it.

Companies cannot become allies – either actively or supportively.
