Yet we remain heavily dependent on fossil fuels. This leaves us vulnerable to international tensions and unpredictable energy prices, while the realities of the climate crisis become more apparent every day.
Meanwhile, major fossil fuel companies are raking in record profits while everyday households pay the price.
This calls for a shift in course: investing in energy security, affordability, and a future-proof economy.
On September 12, thousands will gather in Utrecht – just ahead of ‘Prinsjesdag’ and the presentation of the national budget. Especially with a minority government, there is room for real change, provided the public pressure is visible and impossible to ignore.
